To be successful you must understand complicated regulatory compliance issues; research required architectural and design code requirements; create the proper ownership structure; retain the staff; carefully track purchases to the budgeted amount; and be aware of potential pitfalls and time delays that may occur.  C&A specializes in turnkey development (from planning and design, through State licensure, Medicare certification, accreditation, and ongoing management phases) of Surgical Hospitals, Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC's), both Multi-Specialty and Single Specialty, Endoscopy Centers, , Pain Management, Imaging, Sports Medicine facilities, Infertility Centers, Dental ASC's, and Medical Office Buildings.

We will go to work the minute you call us, to determine the feasibility of the proposed project.  We investigate the payor mix, your surgical procedure mix, and the market in which you are located.  All of that information is reported in the form of a proforma, including a cash flow and income statement covering the first 5 years of operation.  Once a determination has been made concerning the financial feasibility of the facility, then we begin full development.

Turnkey Development includes all aspects of development such as legal structure, financing, site location, architectural services, construction, staffing, equipping, policy and procedure manuals, passing all regulatory approvals, etc.  Close attention will be paid to exactly which regulations and guidelines must be followed depending on the state involved and the type of regulatory approval that will be sought.  There are differences between State Licensure, Medicare Certification, and Accreditation.  It is critical to follow the regulations governing the regulatory approval being sought and not to mix and match the regulations.  This creates extra expenses in the development and does not guarantee that all specific regulations governing your specific project are covered.

Construction will be managed and administered by a national construction company with C&A overseeing all aspects.  Periodic site visits will take place to assure that the construction is continuing on a timely basis.  As construction is completed, previously selected equipment will be ordered and shipped for installation.   It is unnecessary to hire personnel until the project is within 30 days of completion, as it is C&A's responsibility to develop all aspects.

The success of the project begins with careful planning and structuring of the medical and business systems.  This is where the management of the facility begins.  A strong emphasis on planning, budgeting, and establishing realistic goals starts the management process for the facility.  The facility's success will continue with the training, assisting and monitoring the staff will receive as clients of Calisher & Associate's management services.  Every facility has certain nuances and personalities that make it different from other facilities.  We will design custom business solutions, including the general business operations, financial operations and marketing operations.

Management

Calisher & Associates is committed to providing healthcare professionals with an unparalleled level of service covering all aspects of the planning, development, and management of surgical hospitals and ambulatory health care facilities.  Our management services will furnish an on-site administrator to run the day-to-day operations of the facility and a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) when appropriate.  The senior management team will review financial and operational reports weekly and review those reports with the on-site administrator and CFO.  Additionally senior management will conduct periodic on-site visits to personally follow all aspects of facility management.

The same quality and wealth of knowledge are also available to your surgical facility in the form of C&A management services.  From planning, structuring, training and insurance contracting, to the decision making and operational reporting you will find that Calisher & Associates define total quality management for the facility.

The clinical side of a surgical hospital and ambulatory surgery center is only half of the business.  Managing the facility as a profitable business deserves no less attention to quality.  Over  25 years of managing experience in hospitals and ambulatory surgery settings becomes your asset, when you partner with Calisher & Associates to manage your facility.  The demonstrated expertise of Calisher & Associates in medical and surgical facility development is expanded by our management services.  We understand that the success of any surgical hospital or surgery center depends on an efficient, quality, patient-care focus in the operating room.  The same operating room is the engine and the patient is the fuel, the business office has to be the driver.  Without the three components working together in an efficient manner, the surgical hospital/surgery center will not run at its peak optimum performance.

Managing an ambulatory surgery center is significantly more complex than that of the physician's office.  Calisher & Associates has the hands-on-experience and technical expertise to help develop the business office and nursing staff to handle to the demands of an ambulatory surgery center in an efficient and profitable manner.
